Our team in Space & Defense is looking for a Design Engineer to join them. You will report to the Slip Rings Engineering Manager and will have an onsite work schedule in Blacksburg, VA.

 

To be considered for Slip Rings Design Engineer, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a mechanical, electrical, or aeronautical engineering discipline
  • 3 years experience in the design and analysis of precision rotating electromechanical equipment is preferred.
  • Experience using mechanical design/packaging, electrical, and analytical skills
  • Experience using CAD/CAE (UG NX is desirable)
  • Knowledge of machine/manufacturing capabilities and drafting standards 

As a Slip Rings Design Engineer, you will:

  • Establish concepts and requirements as needed to successfully conduct and support the design efforts in a variety of engineering disciplines including mechanical, thermal, and electrical design and analysis in the development of high reliability slip ring assemblies.
  • Understand and interpret customer specifications and requirements and to be the primary interface with suppliers and/or customers for all technical aspects of a project.
  • Work within a team including designers, manufacturing engineers, quality engineers and technical writers
  • Serve as the primary contributor to carry designs from inception in the bids and proposal phase through detailed design development and analysis to creation of production drawings and documentation and then continue to provide support as the slip ring product moves into production build and test.
