Associate Design Engineer

Our team in Space & Defense is looking for an Associate Design Engineer to join them. You will report to the ECAD Manager and will have an onsite work schedule in Blacksburg, VA.

 

To be considered for Associate Design Engineer, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:

  • Associate degree in engineering with 4 years of electrical/mechanical design experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Experience designing electronic circuits and understand electronic parts and interaction of electronic components with a knowledge of electronic packaging, interconnection methodologies, and printed wiring board design techniques.
  • Working knowledge of engineering principles, documentation standards, and drafting practices.
  • Experience communicating with the technical community including customers and vendors.
  • Experience handling multiple activities while staying structured and organized.
  • Proficient usage of electrical and mechanical CAD tools.

 

As an Associate Design Engineer, you will:

  • Have autonomy within the design work, while working collaboratively with senior engineers.
  • Validate conceptual problem solutions by performing simulations and analyses.
  • Design circuits, printed wiring boards, and electronic hardware packaging.
  • Contribute to the preparation of successful proposal designs, cost estimates, and technical write ups and reports.
  • Operate as a contributing member in a team of creative, independent individuals.
  • Represent Moog in a manner consistent with its technical reputation.
