Moog Space and Defense Group is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for the Electrical Product Engineering Group to join the Space Sector Actuation and Avionics team to design and manufacture of systems to survive the harsh environments of space travel. As an industry leader in space avionics, actuation and mechanisms, propulsion, power, structures, and shock and vibration control, Moog has been committed to the space industry for more than 60 years and Moog products have been to every planet.

 

Day- to-Day Responsibilities:

 

  • Assign programs and projects to direct reports in timely manner and monitor these tasks so they are completed within technical, cost, and schedule constraints.
  • Provide personal development for assigned direct reports by conducting performance reviews, training, mentoring, and monitoring career development.
  • Lead the development of strong engineering teams within the site that execute the business.
  • Support the succession planning engineering talent.
  • Mentor and coach the development of new engineering leads to develop the leadership depth to support business growth and succession planning across sites.
  • Work on assigned programs directly as a member of a program team in support of technical and programmatic goals.
  • Identify and implement strategies that take advantage of synergies across multiple projects or programs.   Look to improve the efficiency of the overall engineering approach.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the broader organization by providing input to the engineering strategy.
  • Interface with Moog's customers in a professional and ethical manner in order to support staffing and technical needs of programs.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve engineering processes for the supported business so that the processes are effective in meeting the needs of the customers.  Assist in the creating of new processes to support the business.
  • Expected to resolve problems that arise.

 

Here are the skills you’ll bring with you…

 

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field with 10+ years of relevant technical experience
  • Ability to work onsite in East Aurora, NY (remote candidates will not be considered)

 

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.

Pay Disclaimer:

The base pay range $111,009.60 - $197,704.00 represents the low and high end of the Moog pay range or indicates the hourly rate for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on many factors such as skills, experience, certifications and performance. The rate listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include a profit share bonus, employee stock purchase plan, a flexible paid time off policy, competitive 401K plan with enhanced matching program, and many region-specific benefits.
