Moog WNY Defense is growing! We’re looking for a System Engineer to join our team in East Aurora, NY. This is an onsite position.

Moog Defense is the premier motion and flow control solutions provider for the following markets: missiles, military ground vehicles, and naval vessels. Emerging areas of focus include Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) systems.

Reporting to the Staff Engineering Manager, you will learn the language and basic principles of system engineering.  This will include determining the customer’s needs, Moog product architecture, analysis approaches and project management processes (cost and schedule).  You will also learn the product development process.  Primary activities will be in supporting subsections of the overall system engineering responsibilities while being mentored by other Project, System or Design Engineers.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering plus 5+ years of experience in a design / development engineering OR Master of Science Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace or Systems Engineering plus 3+ years experience.  A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Technology is not acceptable.  
  • Experience with Modeling and Simulation, Verification and Validation Methods, Control System Design, and/or Integration and Test. 
  • Familiarity with System Engineering tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, SysML, DOORS, etc.
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance is required; holding an active Security Clearance is a plus 
  • Ability to travel as required

Responsibilities include:

  • Validate conceptual design problems by performing trade studies, detailed analysis and simulation models.
  • Contribute to the product development through participation in the integration and test of components.
  • Contribute to the creation, development and management of requirements databases and interface control documents.
  • Create concise reports and proposal write-ups that describe the design decisions and analysis results.
  • Contribute to the preparation of successful proposals.  Contributions to include verification and validation approaches, component level design requirements, requirements compliance assessment and technical write-ups
  • Manage assigned work within authorized budget and schedule.
  • Operate as a contributing member of in a team of creative, independent individuals
  • Represent Moog in a manner consistent with its strong technical reputation.

 

Salary:

•    The base pay range for this opportunity is $90,000 - $115,000 per year

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, competitive 401K plan with enhanced matching program, and many region-specific benefits. 

This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information.
