The Space sector within the Moog Space and Defense Group is projecting significant growth driven by high levels of U.S. Department of Defense spending and the thirst for human exploration.  Additionally, the Western New York Space business has recently reorganized into three Business Units (BUs): Actuation & Avionics, Fluid Controls and Engines. We are hiring a Fluid Controls Project Quality Engineer.  This Business Unit supplies valves, regulators, and other fluid control products for space applications such as in-space and launch vehicle propulsion as well as environmental control and life support systems for crewed space missions.

To be considered for the Project Quality Engineer role, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:

  •        Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology
  •        At least eight (8) years of experience in quality or applying quality concepts through related experience in design or manufacturing.
  •        Excellent problem-solving skills and sound technical knowledge in manufacturing, assembly, and test processes       
  •        Previous supervisory experience

As a Project Quality Engineer you will:

  •        Supervise Quality Engineering personnel.  This includes managing workloads, setting priorities, conducting performance appraisals, coaching, and succession planning.
  •        Maintain close working relationships with personnel internal and external to Moog, including but not limited to customers and other functional groups (e.g., Engineering, Operations, etc.)
  •        Provide quality concepts training for the quality group and across the business unit.
  •        Facilitate product and process improvement activities, using of problem-solving tool and techniques.
  •        Champion execution of Cost of Poor Quality reduction strategies.
  •        Analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement or to verify the effectiveness of actions taken.
  •        Monitor Quality Engineering project budgets and schedules.
  • Support the Fluid Controls Business Unit Management Team in executing the business operation.

Salary Range:

The base pay range for this opportunity is $111,010 - $170,000 per year.  The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, competitive 401K plan with enhanced matching program, and many region-specific benefits

This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information.
