As a Product Engineer in Moog’s Space-Actuation engineering team, you will provide engineering support for various production and development programs involving actuators and their associated test equipment systems and software. Reporting to the actuation engineering manager, the product engineer is responsible for the product design and test systems necessary for the sustainment of assigned products through qualification, and the transfer of development program/products into the production environment. 

 

To be considered for the Product Engineer, here are the skills you’ll bring with you:

 

  • BS in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • 2-3 years of relevant Mechanical Engineering experience working in a production environment
  • Writing work instructions and mechanical and/or space-rated actuator experience

The following tasks are necessary to ensure the quality and manufacturability of assigned products:

  • Write, maintain, and train build and test procedures (iWIN)
  • Assist in identifying the root case and resolving issues, non-conformances, or ANDONs related to design or production processes. 
  • Adhere to standard business operating documents for the assigned program(s). 
  • Develop or manage technical requirements and hardware configuration. 
  • To achieve continuous improvement of processes and requirements, consider the following: 
  • Participate in or lead Lean Events, Value Stream Improvement Plan (VSIP) activities, and recurring reflection meetings. 
  • Implement robust corrective actions with Quality Engineering. 
  • Identify and execute plans to reduce waste. 

 

As a Product Engineer, you will:

 

·         Evaluate, sustain, implement, and improve assembly & test methods, fixtures, test equipment, and software necessary for product delivery. 

·         Collaborate with cross-functional teams to complete assigned program(s) and initiatives. 

·         Provide engineering support for customer inquiries, technical issues, and internal queries. 

·         Perform engineering analysis using engineering fundamentals and computational software. 

·         Coordinate pre-production development activities. 

·         Generate, organize, and maintain technical data, reports, and procedures for assigned programs. 

·         Manage program engineering tasks within the established budget and scope. 

·         Provide support for proposal development. 

·         Travel to Moog, customer, and supplier facilities as needed, estimated at 1-3 trips per year. 

 

Desired Skills/Software Knowledge:

·         Documents: iWIN (LabVIEW-based procedure software), MS Word, MS Excel 

·         Programming: MATLAB, LabVIEW, Python 

·         Analysis: MATLAB, Simulink, ANSYS, Mathcad, MS Excel 

·         Modeling Drafting: NX Unigraphics, SolidWorks, GD&T (1994 Std) 

·         Programmatic: MS Excel, MS Project, Connect (MS SharePoint), MS OneNote, MS Outlook, Teamcenter

 Salary Range:

  • The base pay range for this opportunity is $69,638.40 - $128,585.60

Actual salaries will vary depending on many factors such as skills, experience, certifications and performance. The rate listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
