Moog WNY Defense is growing! We’re seeking a Development System Engineer to join our team for an onsite position in East Aurora, NY.

Moog Defense is the premier motion and flow control solutions provider for the following markets: missiles, military ground vehicles, and naval vessels. Emerging areas of focus include Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace or Systems Engineering with 2+ years of experience in design / development engineering OR Master’s Degree along with 1+ year of engineering experience. A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Technology is not acceptable. 

  • Ability to travel as required

  • Ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance is required; holding an active Security Clearance is a plus

You will be assigned roles that focus on learning the language and basic principles of system engineering.  This will include determining the customer’s needs, Moog product architecture, analysis approaches and project management processes (cost and schedule).  They will also be expected to learn the product development process.  Primary activities will be in supporting subsections of the overall system engineering responsibilities while being mentored by other project, system or design engineers. 

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage requirements for proposals and system requirements reviews.
  • Validate conceptual design problems by performing trade studies, detailed analysis and simulation models.
  • Contribute to the product development through participation in the integration and test of components.
  • Contribute to the creation, development and management of requirements databases and interface control documents.
  • Create concise reports and proposal write-ups that describe the design decisions and analysis results.
  • Contribute to the preparation of successful proposals.  Contributions to include verification and validation approaches, component level design requirements, requirements compliance assessment and technical write-ups
  • Manage assigned work within authorized budget and schedule.
  • Operate as a contributing member of in a team of creative, independent individuals
  • Represent Moog in a manner consistent with its strong technical reputation.

Salary Range:
The base pay range for this opportunity is $80,000 - $102,000 per year

This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information.

The base pay range represents the low and high end of the Moog pay range or indicates the hourly rate for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on many factors such as skills, experience, certifications and performance. The rate listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
