Moog is looking for a Shipping / Receiving Supervisor to oversee a team of logistics clerks.  You will ensure the correctness and timeliness of inventory and shipping/receiving transactions.  You will also interact with the Shop, Material Planning, Quality, Engineering and other departments within Moog.  You will have a 9/80 schedule option and work onsite daily at our aerospace manufacturing plant in Torrance, CA.

As a Shipping and Receiving Supervisor, you will:

  • Supervise Stockroom and Shipping/Receiving Clerks. Maintain an efficient work force by selecting, training and motivating your team.
  • Ensure the correctness and timeliness of all transactions in the Stockroom, Shop and Shipping/Receiving.
  • Reconcile errors as they occur to insure accurate inventory balances and costs.
  • Responsible for conducting and participating in external and internal audits including the Annual physical Inventory.
  • Responsible for the timely and efficient issuance and receipt of material in support of the Shop, Assembly and Test.
  • Support the meeting of production schedules by ensuring timely and efficient movement of in process parts.
  • Effect revision control of operation sheets and drawing; and coordinate rework activities.
  • Responsible for the packaging, storage and care of inventories.
  • Maintain traceability of all in-process parts.
  • Adhere to the rules governing the handling, storage and tracking of government/customer-owned property.
  • Highlight potential problems that could result in production delays and suggest possible solutions to the Material Manager and Shop Supervisor.
  • Assure compliance to Moog procedures and legal requirements.
  • Coordinate special packaging and shipping requirements for various unique programs.
  • Maintain records of receipts, shipments, bills of lading, packing sheets, and shipment log sheets.
  • Determine packaging methods and design of packaging when required to assure safe transit.
  • Prepare and file all loss and damage claims against transportation agencies.

 

To be considered for this role, here are the minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • OR Associate’s Degree with 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • OR High School Diploma / GED with 9+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 1+ year of experience with ERP/MRP systems

This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information. 

Preferred qualifications include:

·       Experience in the aerospace industry

·       Leadership or supervisor experience

·       Experience in a materials or logistics role

Salary range:

The base pay range for this opportunity is $67,000 - $85,000 per year.  The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual profit share bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, competitive 401K plan with enhanced matching program, and many region-specific benefits.
