Our team in Military Aircraft Group is looking for a Senior Project Engineering Technician to join them. You will report to the Head of Test sector and will have an onsite work schedule in Torrance, CA.

The Senior Project Engineering Technician will provide advanced technical and logistical support for the design, development, and testing of aircraft components.  You will work closely with a team of engineers and technicians on the planning and execution of development and/or qualification tests for electromechanical and hydromechanical actuators.

To be considered for the Senior Project Engineering Technician role, here's what you'll need to bring with you: 

·       Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Aerospace is desirable)

·       3 years or more of related technical experience in a Manufacturing environment, preferably in a mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic engineering environment.

·       This position requires security clearance.

 

As a Senior Project Engineering Technician, you will: 

·       Model the highest safety standards within the testing environment.

·       Evaluation of technical specification to identify necessary development testing, configurations, and fixturing.

·       Help define test equipment requirements and review test equipment design.

·       Generate procedures specifying the safety, setup, and operation of test equipment.

·       Provide technical review of test procedures (ATPs, QTPs, etc.) and drawings.

·       Review test data for validity and help to resolve test issues.

·       Train operators in the testing of products.

·       Generate and manage test schedules.

·       Co­ordinate the efforts of one or more Laboratory Engineering Technicians and monitor the progress of each project.

·       Provide design support, conducting perform­ance and risk mitigation analyses / tests as required.

·       Assure the timely completion of program support tasks which do not require the direct involvement of the engineer but require greater knowledge and skills than those typically possessed by a Laboratory Engineering Technician.  

·       Assure the ordering and timely delivery of purchased hardware and acts as the techni­cal liaison to the vendor as required.

·       Work closely with Engineering Laboratory personnel, answering their questions, providing direction, and dealing with test anomalies as circumstances warrant.

·       Re­port the progress of the development test program to the Project Engineer as warranted and provides recommendations as appropriate.

·       Facilitate the transition of de­velopment programs into production by documenting the development assembly and test proc­ess.

·       In conjunction with the responsible Project Engineer, conduct the Production Transfer Meeting.

Salary Range:

Pay range for this opportunity is $80K - $110K annually.  

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, competitive 401K plan with enhanced matching program, and many region-specific benefits. 

This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information. This position requires security clearance.
