Moog Industrial Group in Christiansburg, Virginia is looking for a highly motivated Quality Assurance Engineer. The position will have primary responsibility for the site quality functions and initiatives. This includes support of site quality and lean improvements, ISO 9001 compliance, and reporting quality performance to site leadership.

Responsibilities

  • This role will report directly to the Quality Assurance Manager.
  • Contribute to the company’s success by engaging with our suppliers and internal stakeholders to prevent and correct quality issues.
  • Assist in supplier selection and performance monitoring.
  • Facilitate Supplier Corrective and Preventative Action related to material quality issues.
  • Evaluate production processes for compliance with quality requirements.
  • Assist in development of audit plans, audit schedules.
  • Participate in quality audits.
  • Identify processes, situations, etc., where organization is meeting requirements, as well as identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist audit team in developing audit reports; present audit reports to top management, as needed.
  • Assist with follow-up audits, as required.
  • Participate in the creation of new processes to improve Quality Management System.

Basic Qualifications

  • Preference will be given for candidates with a Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • Experience in an engineering position within a manufacturing production environment.
  • Experience with motion control and electronic components is highly desired.
  • Proficiency in document control pertaining to contract, industry, and other regulatory flow downs is highly desired.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated team/relationship building skills.
  • Knowledge and experience using analytical tools such as SPC, Gage R&R, 5 Why or Fault Trees.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
