Announcement of Position Opening

Moog Italiana S.r.l. founded in 1975, and part of Moog Inc. a world leader in providing high-performance motion control solutions, research candidates for the position of:

Mechanical Engineer

The resource will be in charge of designing Ball and Roller Screws based on customer specifications and drawings.

The scope is to provide technical support to Moog Applications groups and to External Customers in the development of special applications where ball and/or roller screws are key components. This involves researching and developing new designs, defining technical choices and special processes for the manufacturability of new products, taking part into testing campaign and data analysis.

The resource will be required to work with good level of autonomy in agreement with the company strategy and supervisor’s guidelines.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB

·         Define with his supervisor the tasks priorities, being then capable of managing their execution within the agreed schedule

·         Design standard and customized products responding to customers’ needs and according to Moog’s quality requirements

·         Carry out mechanical engineering calculations to support the product design or specific projects

·         Bring new products to production successfully and provide technical documentations to the production on timely and quality manner

·         Collaborate with other Moog Technical and Application groups to provide design support of complex solutions and deal with external resources (suppliers, test lab, consultants, etc.) for product development necessity

·         Apply Moog standards and procedures in the execution of assigned tasks

·         Contribute to the improvement of current design and development tools and standard and lean project involvement

·         Daily support to the production in order to solve problem, improve quality, reduce cost

·         Support sales in the technical aspects of customer management and in the proposal of the right solution for the customers

SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES

·         The resource could visit customers or suppliers together with other colleagues to collect technical data for the product design or to understand specific needs or to address special requests

·         Special requests from other Moog locations could require the resource to take part in special projects and activities requiring his specific expertise and background

·         The incumbent could work in team with resources outside of Italy driving the need to coordinate himself in a multicultural environment and to travel to other Moog locations.

·         The incumbent must be capable of arranging his short term tasks but needs the support of a supervisor in the definition of priorities and for the execution and support of longer term and more complex projects.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS REQUIRED

·         Degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent

·         3 years of progressive experience (usually post-education) in the field of mechanical construction

·         Requires high level of mechanical knowledge and high level of Product development Processes

·         Good command in English
