Job Summary
Moog is recruiting for a Heat Treatment Technical Lead to join the team based in Wolverhampton. In this role, you will be responsible for the provision of technical backup and support to the heat treatment department and additionally, you will ensure that all data cards and procedures are maintained to meet our customers’ requirements.
When any potential issues are identified you will be expected to collaborate with the wider team to seek a resolution that ensures the components are correct to drawing and technical specifications. The technical lead will also be responsible for the uptime of the heat treatment equipment calling on specialist services as and when needed.
To be successful in this role you must be able to maintain quality under pressure and have an awareness and adhere to safety procedures.
Key Expertise
- Bachelor’s Degree (MEng Materials Engineering Degree) or equivalent and able to provide a documented theoretical understanding of heat treatment practices
- A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a heat treatment operational setting is preferable
- Be able to demonstrate a high level of knowledge and experience in the application of Nadcap operational requirements
- Possess strong communication skills and have the ability to lead and guide the team to ensure adherence to safe working practices
- Experience in writing standard operating procedures that are relevant to heat treatment practices
- Have a good understanding of batch control for traceability and audit purposes and be able to carry out quality checks when required
- Hardness and tensile testing experience exposure would be advantageous
- Exposure to automotive or aerospace heat treatment practices and procedures would be desirable
