Our Industrial Group Murphy Team is looking for a Buyer to join them.

You will be responsible for the procurement of direct and indirect materials as assigned / required in the commercial, military and medical industries. You will manage commodity and machining accounts for the purpose of executing on-time delivery, coordinating engineering change orders and facilitate successful communication between Moog and the supply base.

You will report to the Sector Supply Chain Manager in Murphy, North Carolina.

 As a Buyer, you will…

  • Place purchase orders; negotiate prices and delivery
  • Expedite purchase orders as required
  • Write deviations or Engineering Change Notices as needed
  • Obtain quotations as directed by Sales and Engineering
  • Insure accuracy, and proper signature authority, of all placed purchase orders
  • Mail orders and engineering documents as needed
  • File purchase orders
  • Function as the focal point as problems arise between receiving, accounts payable, quality and the supplier
  • Maintain LN Item Data and supplier master file as required
  • Maintain KanBan and consignment purchase orders as required
  • Insure all off-shore procurement and the drop shipping of material is completed according to established procedures
  • Establish and report on cost savings goals
  • Manage supplier relationships and performance issues (foreign and domestic)
  • Ability to work within the ethical boundaries of Moog policy with team members and other department personnel including; production, planning, inspection, receiving, accounting and maintenance.

 

To be considered for the Buyer  role, here's what you'll need to bring with you:

 

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to read and understand complex technical drawings
  • Attention to detail, ability to handle complex problems, negotiation skills, technical experience and skills related to product and supply chain, and a focus on results and customer satisfaction.

 

This position requires access to US export-controlled information.
